How can an LGBT Support Group help?
Gallup estimates that only 4.5% of the population identifies as LGBT. Finding a community that can relate to your challenges and triumphs can be a serious mental health game changer.
Living in West Michigan means experiencing a confusing blend of acceptance, tolerance and condemnation. You may experience anger and sadness about the injustice you experience, or feel like you can’t just be you. Your greatest struggles may not be caused by being gay, but the inability to genuinely relate to those around you and question the quality of your connection.
At the Truism Center, our close-knit LGBT support groups are composed of like-minded individuals that have been put together under the specific recommendation and guidance of their therapist. A support group gives you an outlet to talk about sensitive issues with a sympathetic network of individuals who share your struggle.
The Truism Center offers a space for your community—a safe zone where LGBT people can share what they are going through without judgement.
