You can heal

The brain has an incredible ability to heal and change throughout its lifespan. Everyone brings a unique set of individual strengths to the therapeutic process. My goal is to guide individuals in discovering their full potential by providing a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. The Truism Center values therapeutic alignment and making sure that you feel heard and understood throughout the counseling experience.   Our work together has the potential to set you on a new path.  Counseling does not have to last forever but the benefits will.

Areas of expertise

My educational background is in clinical social work with an emphasis on mental health, child welfare, and trauma.  I have professional experience within a residential treatment facility for children, a community foster care setting, and providing therapy to children, teenagers, and families. I provide clinical interventions for individuals coping with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, relationship stress, behavioral issues, adjustment, and autism. In my therapeutic practice, I utilize a variety of techniques including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and motivational interviewing. I work to meet individuals where they are and tailor therapy to meet individual needs.

More about me

I grew up in Southwest Michigan and moved to Grand Rapids in 2012 to continue my education. My hobbies include spending time with my nieces and nephews, enjoying the outdoors, writing, reading, and making memories with my dog, Arya. My perfect day includes time spent in meaningful conversations and sharing many laughs with close friends. I believe that our closest connections are what build resiliency and strength as we navigate the joys and hardships of life.
