“Empathy has no script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘You’re not alone.’” Brene Brown

Getting to know you

Hi! I know how difficult and uncomfortable it can be to reach out for help. It takes courage, time, effort and energy but you are so worth putting that into bettering yourself. If you are someone struggling with things like anxiety, self-esteem, depression, finding your values, trauma or a variety of other things I am here to sit with you in that darkness. You are not alone, and it is such a privilege for me to be able to be a person that can help you get to where you want to be. If you are a part of the LGBTQ community or other minority communities, I am here to stand next to you. Trust me, I know how hard it is to reach out but the hardest part of growth is just simply starting. I am here to help you start that journey.

Getting to know me

One of my biggest core values is authenticity and honesty. No matter what, I am always myself. You will get to meet me as me, not just what a stereotypical idea of a therapist you might have heard or seen. I strive for an authentic therapeutic relationship, which to me means that I truly do care about our work and aim for openness and trust. One of my biggest strengths is simply being there for you as a trusted, safe, comfortable, nonjudgmental and unbiased adult. I find that in itself to be incredibly healing and then we can utilize a variety of techniques to best support you. Everyone is so different!  I always tell people finding the right therapist is the only way it will be worthwhile, and it is okay if that takes a few tries. I use a person-centered approach which means that you are the expert on your own life, I am not here to tell you what to do or judge but to be next to you as a guide and supporter. I am so excited to chat more about exploring if we would be a good fit in working together.

Professional Experience

Some more information about me is that I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University. Since graduating I have worked as an academic advisor at a university assisting college students with their educational programs and campus resources, a crisis specialist for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline which is now 988 where I took calls and provided emotional support and local resources for those in crisis, and have been in private practice for 2 years now. I work with mostly adolescents, teens and college aged populations.
