“Being able to be your true self is one of the strongest components of good mental health.” — Dr. Lauren Fogel Mersy
Your healing journey
It is a tremendous step to begin therapy or seek a new therapist. In your healing journey, my intention is to create a space for safety so that you do not have to walk alone. I am a firm believer that each individual is the expert in their own life, therefore I hold in high honor the tenderness in walking alongside clients’ sensitive emotions, relationships, and traumas. I desire to assist in coping with life’s highs, lows, mundane moments, and joyful constants. I intend to work toward client-led goals through the implementation of therapeutic tools. Life and relationships can be messy, and healing can be vulnerable. I am here to help find bravery in these deep spaces.About my work
I received a Master’s in Theological Studies specializing in Urban and International Development from the University of Toronto, Wycliffe College. I received an additional Master’s from Western Michigan University in Social Work, specializing in Clinical Social work with a focus on ‘Trauma Across the Life Span’ and ‘Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’. I have a three-year history as a social work case worker in the areas of housing insecurity and sex trafficking. I most recently interned as a Trauma Therapy Intern for an agency helping persons transition out of domestic violence, and/or healing from sexual assault.Similar Therapists
